The Halcyon Focus 2.0 diving torch is a breakthrough in underwater lighting technology and offers twice the brightness of the original Focus 1.0 light which it replaces.
The Focus 2.0 has double the output of the original Focus and can run up to 2.5 hours in high mode or 5 hours in low mode, making it ideal for a weekend of diving without the need to recharge, or a dive with long bottom and decompression time.

What sets the light apart from others is the ability to focus the beam, a feature that has been historically very challenging to develop in an LED light. The Halcyon Focus 2.0 does this using two reflectors and a Fresnel lens to provide full focus adjustability with amazing output and greatly reduced power consumption. This allows it to operate with a tight and focused beam for signaling, following guidelines and penetrating through poor visibilty conditions, plus the ability to widen the beam when needed, possibly to take pictures or video.

Some key features include :

- A 5.2-amp hour Lithium battery pack in a Delrin canister for harness mounting
- Adjustable power switch may be set to Off, Low, or High power.
- Approx. 3.0 hours burn time on high, 5.5 hours burn time on low.
- Adjustable handle that can be used in left or right hands, and cover the lens during transport.
- Can be supplied with either standard or E/O cords
- High Setting delivers ~80,000 Lux at 1 metre / 1,550 Lux at 5 metres
- Low Setting (Half Power) delivers ~39,000 Lux at 1 metre / 775 Lux at 5 metres
- Standard cord length is 108cm/ 42".
- Also available in handheld versions.

E/O Cords

Halcyon E/O cords are versatile, underwater pluggable connectors. They allow divers to utilise their batteries with more than one light head,  or with heating systems etc. by allowing the diver to change what the battery powers. A male-female E/O connector at end of the battery side cord will require a male-female E/O connector on the cord leading to light head or heating system. These can be tremendously useful if a diver needs to switch light heads underwater, perhaps from standard to a video light. Or on a long exploration dive where a back up light head may be carried in case of a failure. They also find apllication in situations where film makers which to detach their camera and lights from themselves and the batteries and hand off to boat crew before climbing a ladder to avoid damage. Versatility is added in many ways.

However it should be noted that E/O cords may require more care and maintenance than continuous cables especially when/if exposed to salt water. It is recommended the connectors are cleaned and well maintained between dives, not directly exposed to salty conditions.

Halcyon prefers to describe diving lights using lux because this provides a gauge of intensity at a given distance. Whereas lumens represent the total amount of light produced, they tell you very little about where the light goes and the usefulness of the beam. For example a light may have a very high output when expressed in lumens, but if it is not correctly directed or focused it will produce a 'blob' of light instead of a beam, which is very little use to a diver. A light producing less lumens may in fact look much, much brighter in the water if poperly focused, than a high lumen light which is diffuse.

Halcyon express output at different distances from the source and of course all light decays over distance, but what we measure for the Focus 2.0 is 80,000 lux at one meter. What this actaully translates to is 80,000 lumens per square meter at that distance. In simple terms - very bright indeed!
