The Fourth Element Proteus II suits are the benchmark to which other suits are compared, being the warmest 3mm dive wetsuit on the market and the highest performing 5mm wetsuit in its class according to independent testers.
The suit gains it's warmth by using a Thermoflex lining throughout and a Hexcore thermal lining on the torso. Water flow through the suit is minimised by the Hydrolock neck seal, Glideskin wrist seals, and ankle seals. Seams are double glued, blind stitched and taped and are almost completely waterproof.
The 3mm suits are often found to be warm enough down to water as cool as 23c (73F) and the 5mm down to 19c, (66F). Of course to get more out of any wetsuit in colder waters, it's a good idea to combine it with a Thermocline vest and shorts underneath and use a hood (3mm or 5mm).
Proteus suits are available in 3mm and 5mm Mens and Womens Full Body versions.
