The Halcyon Flare EXP is a more compact version of the standard Flare primary light, designed to be easily transported, small enough to be stored in a pocket in its' handheld form AND powerful enough to lead a deep technical or cave dive... even on half power. It's also fully at home on a recreational reef dive. The FLARE EXP is strong, dependable and priced to become your go to solution for your next primary light.

Halcyon prefers to describe diving lights using lux because this provides a gauge of intensity at a given distance. Whereas lumens represent the total amount of light produced, they tell you very little about where the light goes and the usefulness of the beam. For example a light may have a very high output when expressed in lumens, but if it is not correctly directed or focused it will produce a 'blob' of light instead of a beam, which is very little use to a diver. A light producing less lumens may in fact look much, much brighter in the water if poperly focused, than a high lumen light which is diffuse.

Halcyon express output at different distances from the source and of course all light decays over distance. At 1m distance for example the Flare EXP delivers 11,500 lux, equating to 11,500 lumens at that distance.
