Technical Diving is every bit as much about diving safely as it is about diving deep. The gas you choose plays a big part in this and by opting for the Advanced Recreational Trimix course you'll be earning yourself a certification to use helium based gases right from the beginning of your technical diving path. This course is very similar to IANTD Advanced Nitrox but with it's deeper dives made on Trimix instead of air. It's the most complete entry level course you will find!
This training is an alternative to IANTD Advanced Nitrox, you don't have to do both. It is prerequisite to IANTD Normoxic Trimix courses and above, and to various levels of CCR (rebreather) training.
Diving to 45m/150ft might not sound like much more than you have already done. In reality though, the difference in what you will now be able to do is like night and day. Take a dive like Puerto Galera's Japanese Wreck, settled at 42m/140ft. on the seabed. Most recreational divers don't even know it exists (nor dive shops know where to find it!) and those that do have visited for maybe five or six fleeting minutes.
Now with this training you'll be able to take your time, maybe spend a good twenty five minutes picking through this fascinating sevevnty year old wreck site. The difference in the feel and quality of the dive is remarkable. This isn't just about the depth...it's about the safe time to explore at depth you are gaining. Interested...? Read on!
With this course you are really taking your diving knowledge to a new level, not just with diving procedures and technique, but with fascinating insights into your phsiology and how your body works underwater... In class, during drills and in water you will learn about :
Note: As with other IANTD programs, the diver must complete and pass the written examination, complete all open water requirements efficiently and safely, and meet all criteria on the final Course Evaluation Form in order to be certified.
You will find details of what is included and not included across all IANTD courses on the Overview page. The IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix course would be taught double tanks or sidemount if the diver is qualified to use this configuration. A single decompression gas is used during ascents at this level of diving. A pdf manual (also for Deep Diver if combined) is issued upon sign up and payment of a deposit for the course.
The Advanced Recreational Trimix course takes four full days to complete. The Advanced Recreational Trimix Plus takes five days. If you don't have the Deep Diver prerequisite we will integrate the material and cover all requirements, and this will take one more additional day and result in both certifications being issued.
If you already hold an Advanced Recreational Trimix certifcation and wish to upgrade to "Plus" then allow one and a half days to complete this.
This is an alternative entry into technical Diving to IANTD Advanced Nitrox. Choose one or the other - there is no need to do both. Time taken is the same - the only difference in the cost is the price of the helium used in training ( est $150/Php7,500 ) .
